Welcome to Breiðabólstaður in Fljótshlíð.

Breidabólstadur, usually called Stadurinn, is a church-farm located in a beautiful countryside called Fljótshlíð about 5 km from the village Hvolsvöllur by road 261 and app. 100 km. east of Reykjavík. At Breiðabólstaður there is a guesthouse which has sleeping accommodations for 20-25 people. Breiðabólstaður is a perfect location for travelers who want to have a look at the gorgeous Þórsmörk, Emstrur and the big glacial river Markarfljót, the unique mountain Einhyrningur, the two glaciers Eyjafjallajökull and Mýrdalsjökull or just the entire highlands of southern Iceland. There are many beautiful and exciting walking trails in the neighborhood and the historical museum Njálusetur and the Skógar-museum are very close.
